Tricia- Philip was my 4 Greats Grandfather. I have visited his grave at Congressional Cemetery several times. You are correct in that he was the grandson of David Stuart and Jane Gibbons. Philp's parents were John Stuart and Frances Alexander. I believe his wife was Mary Boynes rather than Baynes. I am descended from their son William Gibbons who married his first cousin, Frances Maria Wray Stuart. She was the daughter of Phipl's older brother John.
I show the same children you do except that I did not have a George Washington but do show an Elizabeth. I show that it was Elizabeth who married Stuart Thornton. My Great Grandfather- Stuart Thornton Terrett- was obviously named after this gentleman.
What is your connection? Would love to hear from you.
