My research is out of the George Tyler Moore Center of the Study of the Civil War. George Tyler Moore was Actress Mary Tyler Moore's father. The Moore family gave General Stonewall Jackson their house in Winchester VA on Braddock Ave.

I visit John Esten Cooke's gravesite at least once a month. He wrote the book The Life of Hunter John Myers. The story is really about Sally Myers going to the Catholic Girls school in Martinsburg owned by John Esten Cooke's wife's family.

They are in turn connected to Hunter Tim Murphy who was related to Agatha Murphy the daughter of King Louis XV. The Murphys were saved by Albert Gallatin during the French Revolution and were sent to Asylum PA in Bradford County. Agatha Murphy was to marry Catholic Prince Charles Edward Stuart.

So it's really three hunters. Hunter John Myers, Hunter Tim Murphy and Hunter Robert Stuart.

You can read about Hunter John Myers in the book by John Esten Cooke titled The Life of Hunter John Myers. You can read about hunter Tim Murphy in the book The Life of Hunter Tim Murphy by John Brick. You can read about Hunter Robert Stuart in the book Astoria the Life of Hunter Robert Stuart. There is actually another hunter named Hunter Charles Grimm of Winchester. He might have a few brothers who liked to tell stories. But that is another story.
