Hi Valerie - I am interested in the surname of STUART/STEWART.

In particular I am interested in:
Andrew Thomas STUART born 1814 in County Tyrone, Ireland.
Married Mary GILMOUR 1840 in Hobart (??)
Andrew died in Hobart 1894 and Mary in 1906.

Andrew was a prison superintendent at Port Arthur, Swan River, Cascades and other places around Tasmania.

I have not been able to confirm when Andrew came to Australia but have found that their first son, Andrew Godfrey STUART, born 1841, was baptised at St James, Melbourne. (This Andrew Godfrey STUART came to NZ in 1868)

I have found that there are at least 14 children, most born in Tassie.

Do you have a connection or information of these STUART's. Or can refer me to information.

Thanks Rose
