RE McAuley and Stuart/Stewart surnames Ireland and Australia
Posted by: Annie Stuart (ID *****3455) Date: October 18, 2011 at 22:24:51
  of 2923

My husband's grandfather was a William McAuley STUART/STEWART born about 1871 Loughmourne Carrickfergus Antrim Ireland.Migrated to Australia around 1890.
His parents were William Stewart(whose parents were William McAuley Stuart and Mary PENNAL/PENNELL) and Rachael Stuart.
The McAuley name has been passed down through the generations as a middle name.(my husband is also William McAuley STUART by the way )
I'm interested in finding out more about the family's history and also perhaps where the McAuley name fits in.
Thank you
Annie
PS have spelt the name STUART or STEWART as found in the records
