Thomas [Douglas] Stuart (D. Stewart) [son of Thomas Stuart who was brother of Granville Stuart; and presumed father of Mabel Marian Stuart] was allotted land for a homestead on the Blackfeet Reservation: land patent issue dates: 3/12/1918 and 10/26/1922:

To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting:
“WHEREAS, an order of the Secretary of the Interior has been deposited in the General Land Office, directing that a fee simple patent issue to the claimant Thomas (D. Stewart) Stuart, an Indian of the Blackfeet Reservation, for the southeast quarter of Section two and the northeast quarter of Section eleven in Township thirty-five north of Range eight west of the Montana Meridian, containing three hundred twenty acres:
“NOW KNOW YE, That the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, In consideration of the premises, HAS GIVEN AND GRANTED, and by these presents DOES GIVE AND GRANT, unto the said claimant and to the heirs of said claimant the land above described; TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same, together with all the rights, privileges, immunities, and appurtenances, of whatsoever nature, thereunto belonging, unto the said claimant and to the heirs and assigns of the said claimant forever; and there is reserved from the lands hereby granted, a right of way thereon for ditches or canals constructed by the authority of the United States.

“IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Woodrow Wilson
President of the United States of America, have caused these letters to be made
Patent, and the Seal of the General Land Office to be hereunto affixed,
GIVEN under my hand, at the City of Washington, the TWELFTH day of MARCH in the year
of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and EIGHTEEN and of the Independence of the
United States the one hundred and FORTY-SECOND.

“WHEREAS, a schedule of allotments approved by the Secretary of the Interior has been deposited in the General Land Office, whereby it appears that in accordance with the provisions of the Act of June 30, 1919 (41 Stat., 3-16), Thomas Stuart, an Indian of the Blackfeet Reservation, has been allotted the following-described land as a homestead:
“The south half of the northeast quarter of Section ten in Township thirty-six north of Range nine west of the Montana Meridian, Montana, containing eighty acres:
“NOW KNOW YE, That subject to the condition, restrictions and reservations hereinafter recited, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in consideration of the premises, HAS GIVEN AND GRANTED, unto the said Thomas Stuart, and to his heirs, the land above described: TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same, together with all the rights, privileges, immunities, and appurtenances, of whatsoever nature thereunto belonging, unto the said Thomas Stuart, and to his heirs and assigns forever; Provided, that the land hereby conveyed shall remain inalienable and nontaxable until Congress shall otherwise direct; and there is reserved from the lands hereby granted, a right of way thereon for ditches or canals constructed by the authority of the United States. Also reserving, to the United States, in accordance with the provisions of the Act of June 30, 1919 (41 Stat., 17), all minerals, including oil and gas, for the benefit of the Blackfeet Tribe of Indians until Congress shall otherwise direct.
“IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Warren G. Harding,
President of the United States of America, have caused these letters to be made
Patent, and the Seal of the General Land Office to be hereunto affixed.
GIVEN under my hand, at the City of Washington, the TWENTY-SIXTH
day of OCTOBER in the year of our Lord one thousand
nine hundred and TWENTY-TWO and of the Independence of the
United States the one hundred and FORTY-SEVENTH.
