Dear JoAnn, Oh, I do think we are connected but I just don't know how.I can't get far enough back with my Strucks. My sister and I have done considerable research on the Strucks and Ahlgrims from that area.We do well with the Ahlgrims, but not the Strucks. The Ahlgrims come from Ivenack.About 4 yrs. ago, my husband and I went to Germany and rented a car.We drove all around that area---to every village where I had an ancestor born. The largest "town" around was Stavenhagen, but even it had many vacant storefronts. We went to Zettemin, and Ivenack(where they raise horses like the Budweiser ones---and also claim the world's oldest oak tree). We also went to Klockow and Basepohl, among others.I think I have some pictures. It is beautiful, unspoiled country because the Communists didn't build up anything. Some towns were totally vacant--not a living soul in them. All moved to cement apartments close to the factory where they found work.Even some of your names seem familiar. It seems like I have a Ropcke somewhere.I know the family was very involved with a Knoll family after they came to America.I suspected that Knoll also came from that area because those people seemed to stick together. We are just about to leave to catch a ferry to the mainland---We live on an island on the NW corner of Washington. We plan to be back on Fri.I could dig out my papers and tell you a little more then.OK?But don't lose me, I think we are on to something.Very likely the other person on the Struck page is connected, also.Where are you?I am so glad to get your message.ThanksDorothie Fickenwirth
