I have been going back and forth through this for quite some time.
I have George and Bridget's children (except for Ann, from the "Cooley" 1st marriage)as George b. 5/7/1709 (m. Keziah Doane then Ruth Horton); Sarah b. 7/25/1711 (m. ???); Elisha b.1715 Cape Elizabeth (previous ch. mentioned all born in Truro), m. ELCY SMITH bef.1737, John b. 1716, d. >1776 Standish, ME (m. Ruth Mayo), and Isaac (no birth date, no marriage????).
Can anyone add anything about these children, dates, marriages, deaths, etc.??
Also, I have been combing the records for quite some time and do not find any mention of a Gervis or Jarvis Cooley. The Truro Vital Records TRANSCRIPTION shows a Gervis Coley as the father of Ann, who was supposedly Bridget's first child. Do these records exist in original form somewhere? Scanned electronically?? (too much to hope for!) My hunch is that we may be looking as a botched transcription of the Gervis Coley name....and not knowing where to start. I am concentrating on the "C" last names and am now beginning on Covell, Collins, Collier, Coles, and Cole as these are all of the correct time and place (Eastham/Truro), looking for a birth and death that would put little Ann an orphan in approximately 1708. (Ann was born of one father June 10, 1707, and her next child, George, Jr. by the second husband, George, was born 5/7/1709).
This is a very interesting hunt, as Bridget had to have had a maiden name....and possibly was named after someone...Does anyone have a death date for her? As it stands, all we have is the date of her first child. So far, I have Bridget Fuller, Bridget Eldred...any more suggestions?
Thanks for any assistance...
