I guess they are definitely 2 different Dominic Strobls, which is weird since I had thought the Dominic name just didn't go with Strobl when I first saw it on the Ellis Island site. I sent the list of all the Strobls that are on the Ellis Island site as coming from Ollersdorf in Burgenland to someone there. They don't think any of them are related to my grandfather (b. 1876 and came to America in 1903)I've been to Ollersdorf in Burgenland, Austria, and I don't think there could be that many Strobls from the same village that aren't related unless it was a lot bigger village back in the early 1900s. I just figure it's just like with us--until you started doing family history, weren't there people you didn't know were related? I know I've met a lot of relation now, even right in my own city. I knew I had first cousins in a neighboring state, but didn't meet them until a few years ago. I didn't even know about one of my dad's cousins, let alone her 2 children, and now I correspond with them. So, I have my doubts about all the Strobls from the same village not being related to my grandfather.
