I have an original postcard photograph of “E. E. Stringfellow – Des Moines, IA”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about 1908-1909, in Des Moines, and he looks to be about 25. He is a tall man in the photo, and on the photo is written: “WANTS A WIFE – woman with three children will do if he can’t do better. Please address Box 46, U. P. Sta., Des Moines, IA”, which tells me this was taken before he married Myrtle (1909-1910).
I found Ervin Stringfellow in the 1910 census for Des Moines (Polk Co.) age 26, with a wife, Myrtle, age 26, they had been married that year (1910), and had no children. By 1920, he was age 35, a university teacher, and Myrtle B. was age 36. Children were ages 9, 8, 6 and 3.
