I am looking for information on parents and siblings of Obeddiah Strickland Martin b. 1826. He was found on the 1850 and 1860 Census living in Randolph Co. Al and 1870 in Decatur Co., GA census. I think his parents were Wright Martin and Martha Strickland Martin of Johnston, NC. Martha was born abt 1803 according to the 1850 Randolph, AL census and is thought to be the daughter of Samuel and Margaret Strickland of Johnston, Co NC. Obed had a son named William Stanley Martin b. abt 1869 in GA. William Stanley was the grandfather of Martha Strickland. I have no proof of the Strickland/Martin relationship. I have the death certificate of William Stanley Martin (my great-grandfather)which states Obediah Strickland Martin is his father. On the 1850 census Obediah and Wright Martin were living next door to each other and Wright Matin and Martha's age is that which could make it possble to be the parents.
