On the 1860 census in Anderson county is an Elizabeth Banister, age 14. Nobody with the name Bowater shows up in SC on any census. With a poorly written document, Banister might be read as Bowater. Her parents were Rolla and Nancy. On the 1850 census, Elizabeth was Martha E. In 1870 Nancy Banister was also living in Martin Township. Only 2 pages separate the households on the census. (18 households) Rolla died sometime 1860-1870. His probate might name his heirs.
