Have you looked for a death certificate for Eliza Strickland?I have not looked at them for GA, but in AL many death certificates have the parents' names and places of birth on the death certificates. Also here in NC they have at least the names of the parents on them.
How far back do the tax lists go?I am trying to find info on Milza's father Jacob who was in Gwinnett Co. GA by 1835 and was dead by 1840.I could not find any other record of Jacob, even by searching the church records at the Historical Society. I had thought Jacob would have been buried with Milza, but there is no proof of that.
By the way, Milza's sister Zelpha (Mrs. Burrell Segraves)also lived for some time in Gwinnett Co. in the Hogmountain area.Later she left and moved to Covington, Newton Co. GA where she died after the 1870 census was taken.Milza died 9/13/1882.They had moved to Gwinnett Co. GA from Madison Co. GA, and tey had other siblings who remained in Madison Co.
