There seems to be some confusion in regards to Stricklandtown and John Wallace's "The Kingdom".They are entirely Different.Stricklandtown is located between Alvaton and Luthersville, in northern Meriwether County, Ga."The Kingdom" was in Harris County, near what was Chipley at the time when John Wallace murdered Mr. Turner (1948-1949).Chipley is now Pine Mountain and is home to Callaway Gardens.
There were a number of Stricklands in Meriwether and the majority were not kin to John Wallace and, if like myself, had probably not heard of him. I was only a teenager at that time but, I recall Sheriff Collier, who apparently was a totally corrupt individual, and all of the commotion that the murder of Mr. Turner caused. You may be interested to know, the movie "Murder in Coweta County" was not filmed in Greenville (Meriwether County) where much of the story was based.
