There is an Ebenezer Strickland, he was brother to David whom the Genealogy starts with. Mrs. Johnson, the woman who wrote it didnt know the names of the parents.
here is what i found on Ebenezer though:
In 1852 David Strickland with his wife and family moved to Fayette County, Iowa where he purchased 5 pieces of land.
David's brother Ebenezer Strickland and his wife Mary and family also moved to Iowa, purchased land and lived in the area of a town called Auburn.
" The town of Douglas was known as Auburn in the early days. It lay in the bend of the Turkey River, but most of the old town is now gone. There had been a hotel known as the "Vermont House" where Franklin Strickland married eunice E.S. Brown.
There is also an old farm yet owned by decendants of the original owner where a tunnel runs from under the barn to the river. It was used during the civil war days as an underground railway for fugitive slaves. Moonshiners also hid out in it. "Billy the Kid" slept in Old Vermont house but was awakened toward morning to see officers arriving, he sneaked out the back way and hid in the tunnel until he could escape into the hills, still heavily timbered"
