I am "one of those" told we were related to "Young" Stribling. He was supposed to be a cousin. I, in my research, have found no connection.

In 1997 I was in touch with Bill Foley, a sportswriter for The Florida Times Union, One Riverside Avenue, P. O. Box 1949, Jacksonville, Florida 32231, Phone (904) 359-4111. email
tulib@tu.inf.net. He sent me a couple of clippings from the newspaper. "Young" Stribling was extremely popular in the Jacksonville, Fl. area as well in Georgia. This information may only be a duplicate of what you have. Is Mr. Foley still around? Is information still in the library?

There is a 3rd edition of THE BOXING REGISTER printed June 2002 by James B. Roberts and Alexander G. Skutt, copyright 1999 by McBooks Press. I have a some information excerpted from it through http://www.ibhof.com/stribling.htm. Entitled ENSHRINEES Young Stribling. I may have received this from my sister.

About a month ago I found a wonderful photo of "young" Stribling on the internet. I just now printed myself a copy of it. I tried getting to the site using its call letters, but couldn't get it. Here's how: Use yahoo search, search for stribling england. On the sites listed it is www.fighttoys.com/striblingheavybag.htm. Click on that. It is the only way I was able to get it. You could even buy a copy of the photo for $55 + $5 shipping. It copies really well though. He was a handsome guy.
