Ann, I know that your message was intended for Bill Stribling, but I'm interested in your message for two reasons. First of all, I'm a Striplin and like you, my family has been for several generations as well. They dropped (or the census marshalls did) the "G" around 1870. I've been told that the "b" and the "p" were used interchangeably for centuries. The two letters and sounds are similar. Secondly, I would like to inform you that a DNA project is going on right now. I believe it will help us determine the number of branches of Striplin/Striblings and their variants. I also think that it will help us break down some very big brick walls that our ancestors started building years ago. Thanks to this project, I know for certain that my ancestors were indeed Striblings. I have found a "cousin" in South Carolina and we are trying to find where we tie in together. Do you have any male Striplin cousins around? Would they be willing to participate in this project? If so, they would need to contact FamilyTreeDNA and join. The test is easy, painless and very scientific, unlike many paper trails. All the best, Liz Striplin Dupraz Notify Administrator about this message?
