I have discovered the Ezell / Stribling connection.
1. Recall that many of the Ezells moved from Brown's Creek in the Union District of South Carolina to Giles County, Tennessee, before 1810.
2. Recall that Thomas S. Webb, son of Charles Webb and Catherine Stribling, also went there with them.
Recall that we wondered why Thomas, who was not the son of Delilah Ezell Webb, would go there?
3 Recall that we discovered that Catherine Stribling Webb's oldest sister, Frances, married to William Haynie Buchanan, also went to Giles County.
4. Now, here is the new discovery. The connection between the Ezells and the Striblings was through the Buchananans.
William Seit EZZELL, born abt. 1783, married Margaret BUCHANAN, daughter of William Haynie Buchanan and Frances Stribling.
Timothy EZZELL, born 1775, marrried Elizabeth BUCHANAN, daughter of William Haynie Buchanan and Frances Stribling. She died in Okalona, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.
That means that the wives of these two Ezell boys who went to Giles County, Tenn., were the neices of Catherine Stribling Webb, which made them first cousins to Thomas Stribling Webb. At the same time, Dr. Edmund Webb and William Webb, sons of Delilah Ezell Webb were first cousins to the Ezell men.
The Ezell children of these two families were grandchildren of Thomas Stribling and Nancy Ann Kinecheloe.
