So good to finally find someone who may be searching the same line. I have only been able to trace my Striblings back to Bradford Slocum who married Dorcas Elizabeth Alexander in Marion County, Illinois 27 Feb 1862. His death certificate says he was born in Illinois but does not give his parents names or birthplaces. I do not know of any siblings. So Sarah is his sister? Did you find them both listed in the 1850 census with the mother Elizabeth Lydick?
I found the marriage of Bradford and Dorcas on the "Illinois Statewide Marriage Index" web site. He is the only Stribling married in Marion County according to this site. I will be glad to let you know if I find any other information. Thanks for answering my message
