Not sure if it's the same "Lena Streiff," but my great-grandmother's name was Lena Magli. She married Johannes Carl (or John Charles) Streiff. Lena was born in Oberlib Switzerland 10-30-1874. She came to the U.S. with her family in 1880 and lived with her mother, Anna Elizabeth Magli and her 5 sisters; Elsie (Deussel), Louise, Mary (Voelski), Elizabeth (Kopp), and Mathilda "Tilly" (Kahl). Lena and John Charles Streiff were parents of Arthur Streiff, Flora Maurer, Hazel (who died at age 11), and Viola Robinson (my grandmother).
I have more information regarding John Streiff's background. His parents were Johanns Streiff and Rossina Steissie. John Charles Streiff was born in Rirden Switzerland 10-27-1868. His last foreign address was Wintertbur, Swizerland. He came to the U.S. in 1888 on a ship called the Normandie via N.Y. His family settled in the North Side of Pittsburgh, PA in a Swiss/German neighborhood where they lived out the rest of their lives. John died 8-19-1940 in Pittsburgh.
