My Great x 4 grandparents were John Street & Martha nee Procter. They were married in Crediton, Devon on 19 Jun 1780 and we have a copy of their marriage record. We have proof that Martha was born in Lincolnshire and moved to Chulmleigh, Devon in her late teens. While family folklore has it that John Street was born on 14 Aug 1743 in Lambourn, Berkshire, we have nothing to prove this and we really don't know the circumstances of his move from Berkshire to Devon, if indeed this is 'our' John. We have correspondence between his grandson, Charles Drew Street and Charles' son, Charles Petvin Street, in which CD states that the Devon Streets were a branch of the Berkshire Streets. Apart from that, we know nothing.
Does anyone out there recognise any of the above?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
