Looking for Strayhorn Relatives!!!

The Strayhorn family began on the Strayhorn farm in Hillsborough, North Carolina (Orange County). Research has shown that oldest Strayhorn was named Matthew “Haywood” Strayhorn (wife Phebe) who had five children; two of which were named John and Sanders Strayhorn. The brothers were later given to the slaves owners' daughter; who received the slaves as a wedding gift when she married into the Patterson Family. The 1870 census showns Matthew and Phebe living with Patterson and a John married to Carolina living next door. I am not sure if this is the same John as Sanders brother. Sanders and Rachel (wife) later moved to the east coast of North Carolina. I not sure what happened to John, the brother and other two sisters. After freedom the brothers changed their names back to Strayhorn in order to keep the family together. In keeping up with tradition, we are proposing to get the family together in Hillsborough like our ancestors! This will be the biggest Strayhorn Reunion ever held on July 16-18, 2010! I am interested in finding the descendants of Matthew and Phebe Strayhorn!!!
