William, James, & Elijah/Eli Strawbridge

OK..I'm trying once again to find ANY kind of connection or information. Even if it's a guess, it might help me.

Does anyone have any of these names in your database? William (b. abt. 1750???) was my direct ancestor but I do not know how Elijah/Eli and James connect to him. They were evidently related because there were no other Strawbridges in that area in the late 1700's.

These three were first discovered in Pitt & Martin counties in the late 1700's. Have no idea where they came from. Family members say that they came from Philadelphia and/or Eastern Shore, Maryland.

William was married to Margaret and they had 2 sons and 2 daughters. The sons were named William Jr. (b. abt. 1785)and James (b. abt. 1790.

Elijah Strawbridge: 1790 Census says: Number of free white males 16+ (1), Number of free white males under 16 (4), Number of free white females (3), Number of slaves (10), for a total of 18 persons. He had 4 sons and 2 daughters.

James does not appear to have had a family. He did have property and slaves. This is the last public record for him: March 28, 1808: James Strawbridge old his six remaining slaves to John Winbray for 100 pounds (names: Rachel, Sarah, Ferily, Sias, Nathan, & Henry. Deed was witnessed by William Strawbridge (Sr.)

I believe that William Sr. MAY have been James' brother and they came to N.C. together. Elijah MAY have been the father or an uncle.

Anyone have ANY ideas or guesses for me at all?
