Jim, I am involved in a project to locate and document all Civil War veterans buried in New Jersey. I found James Lewis Straughan's name in the 1890 census as living in Oxford at the time and thought that he might have been buried in the area (and Buttzville is not far from Oxford). Someone else also told me that he was buried in the Methodist Cemetery in Buttzville and if he is, there is no record of him having a tombstone there based upon the old tombstone inscription records that I have seen. Have you ever sent to Trenton for his death certificate or written to the Church to see if he is there? Bob
