This man is not in my line but I saw a picture of him in a book listing people from Lawrence Co. TN(not sure what book) and he much resembled pictures of my Strawn line from Giles Co. TN to Lawrence Co. MO. This is what I have picked up on J. O. Straughan. He md. Nancy E. Petty in Lawrence Co. TN Feb 24 1839 and was in Collins Co. TX by 1850. He may have had a brother Elisha who md Nancy Lindsey. Elisha was b. in Chatham Co. NC. This comes from Richard Jerome Straughan who d. in 1926, McKinney TX. His obit states he was nephew of J. O. Straughan and son of Elisha. Since my Richard Strawn line is also in Chatham Co. NC, I am curious about this.
