Thank you very much for your reply. I need to clarify one thing, however: the name Malcolm was probably a transcription error. Originally I was relying on the transcription of the record from ancestry.com, but after looking at a copy of the original record I don't believe the name is Malcolm. It is hard to read, but it may be something like Nahomi. This child was age 5 on this document (arrival 14 Dec 1835), while Ruth was age 2. That means Ruth's birth year may have been 1833.

Is there a child listed in the family Bible between Mary Ann and Ruth (who would be Malcolm/Nahomi)? If possible, I would love to see a copy of the family Bible page(s) with the family listed. I know that, since the cover is brittle, this may not be safe to do, but if a copy already exists and that copy could be copied, I would be very appreciative to get a copy.
