I am trying to locate information family and/or descendants of Peter Strasser who emigrated from Merishausen Switzerland during the time period 1738-1742, probably to Carolina. He is supposed to have emigrated with his wife and four children. Information is from "Pennsylvania German Immigrants, 1709-1786: Lists Consolidated from Yearbooks of the Pennsylvania German Folklore Society," by Don Yoder, p. 386. Another source is "The Swiss Emigration Book", Vol. 1, compiled by Cornelia Schrader-Muggenthaler, p. 120. He may have lived in Rowan County, NC, and in part of SC, later moving to Wilkes County, GA.
Names in these areas include Peter, John Martin, Hester, Peter Jr., with last name variants of Stroser, Strosser, Strozer, Strozier.
