Yet another followup...I learned that David's parents were George Straehly and Maria Heacher.I'm not positive on Maria's spelling of the last name...This isn't the part that's bothering me however.I can't find David on any of the census records in Pennsylvania. He would have been age 25 during the 1850 census and married to Levina with at least one child - Mary A (age 3).I've tried every variation of the name Straehly I could think of including things like Straebly, Strably, Stradley, Strahly, Straley, Straly, Strehly, Straily, Strohly, etc. I thought maybe he might be living with his father George yet but found nothing there either. They may have been with Levina's parents but with the name Smith, I'll probably never find the record without her father's name or at least the location. If anybody knows where this couple was in 1850 or has done research on the Straehly's from PA, please contact me.I'm at a dead end for now.

Just a quick followup - Levina's maiden name was Smith. Not much help here... Maria Straehly's death record indicated David Strahley as her father. I've looked over the 1850 PA
census records and haven't been able to find a match on David or Levina yet. All I know is they were from PA. They are on the 1860, 1870, and 1880 census record of Bronson Twp,
Branch Co, MI. Any assistance on where they originated in PA or their lineage would be appreciated.

I'm looking for the lineage of Maria Straehly who married George Alvin Hetrick (b. 12/11/1855). George was believed to be born in Clarion Co, PA and moved to southeastern
Kalamazoo County, MI in early childhood.
Kalamazoo County, MI in early childhood.
I've found a David Strahly (b. 1824) and his wife Levina (b. 1830) on the 1880 census of Branch Co, MI. This is adjacent to Kalamazoo county very near where George would have
resided. David and Levina had the following children:
1. Mary A (b. 1847 PA)
2. Mathuster? (b. 1850 PA)
3. Sophy (b. 1852 PA)
4. Anna E (b. 1853 PA)
5. Sarah Ann (b. 1854 PA)
6. Charles (b. 1856 PA)
7. John (b. 1858 MI)
8. Maria (b. 1860 MI)
9. Isabella (b. 1861 MI)
10. Isaac (b. 1863 MI)
11. Maggie (b. 1865 MI)
12. Permelia (b. 1866 MI)
13. Jennie (b. 1869 MI)
14. Clayton (b. 1872 MI)
15. Elleatt (b. 1876 MI)
resided. David and Levina had the following children:
1. Mary A (b. 1847 PA)
2. Mathuster? (b. 1850 PA)
3. Sophy (b. 1852 PA)
4. Anna E (b. 1853 PA)
5. Sarah Ann (b. 1854 PA)
6. Charles (b. 1856 PA)
7. John (b. 1858 MI)
8. Maria (b. 1860 MI)
9. Isabella (b. 1861 MI)
10. Isaac (b. 1863 MI)
11. Maggie (b. 1865 MI)
12. Permelia (b. 1866 MI)
13. Jennie (b. 1869 MI)
14. Clayton (b. 1872 MI)
15. Elleatt (b. 1876 MI)
I can't believe they had 15 children! Note Maria is number 8 and was coincidentally from a family that originated in PA like George's. There are very few Strahly's in Michigan during that
time and I'm almost positive this is the correct Maria Strahly.
