Ashtabula Am Rev. Soldier Dies -- Feb. 23, 1858
[I came across the following obituary in an old Meigs County, Ohio newspaper.I am not related in anyway nor do I have additional information regarding the article.I am posting it in hope that it will be beneficial to someone in their research.]

Feb. 23, 1858
Died in Springfield, Ashtabula county, Ohio, January 10th, Henry Straight, aged 97 years, 6 months and 5 days.
From an account contained in the Ashtabula "Sentinel," we learn that the deceased was born in Warwick, Kent Co., R.I., in 1760; enlisted at the age 14 years, and served throught [sic] the Revolutionary War, enduring all the privations and carrying with him to the grave the honorable scars obtained in the hard fought battles of that memorable period.
At the close of the war, he settled at Lanesborough, Berksire Co., Mass; afterwards at Newstead, N.Y. and subsequently removed to Ashtabula Co., O.
He also served in the war of 1812, under a Lieutenant's commission; was in the battle of Plattsburgh and other engagements.
He voted at every Presidential election since the inauguration of the Government -- his first vote having been cast for George Washington, and his last for John C. Fremont.
Possessed of a powerful constitution, his mental faculties remained unimpaired to the last.
