Re: Strawn
I recently came across my Jack Strahan in KY, listed as Strawn, in the 1850 Federal Census.I am thinking that, perhaps, they pronounced Strahan as Strawn in those days.Has anyone come across this pronounciation of Strahan? Is it possible that, for those who did not write or read during those early days, that their name was actually changed to Strawn and carried forward?Anyone have an answer to this?
