Your mother Cordia Ellar was the daughter of Henry Calvin Strahan b. 6-14-1890 (Taney County MO) d. 5-10-1968 (Branson, MO) and Ora Alma Jackson b. 8-26-97 (near St. Joseph MO) d. 3-4-1985.They are both buried in Arkansas.Henry Calvin's parents were Henry Strahan and Sara Dunlap.Henry Calvin went by Cal.He was a traveling preacher in the Ozark Hills when he Ora.Cal also worked in construction, farming W.P.A. and cut logs. Ora's parents were Sirilda Jane Gladwell and Benjamin Franklin Jackson.I believe Benjamin's parents were Nancy Chesnut (I was told they owned slaves) and John Jackson (from Ireland -school and music teacher)I am the ex-wife of Bill Strahan (Lorna and WC's son)I too am trying to put together genealogy and have ran into a road block.Lorna has given me a good deal of information.I know that Cal was one of four boys - Tom, Cal, John and one I don't have the name of.If your mother recalls any information please let me know.I was hoping to have more info for a genealogy book I wanted to give Bill and Lorna for Christmas.I'm stuck!!!!I have all this information in a ged - would be happy to send it to you or I can mail you a copy.Sincerely,
