Our family tree, on the Strachan side, has been traced as far back as Robert Strachan (1762 - 1836) who married Ann Hogan (1760 - 1830) - my father found a lot of details from graveyards and records offices in the Edinburgh area. Robert would be my great, great, great, great grandfather. I would love to know if anyone has any details that go further back than that. Robert and Ann had four children, Robert, Ann, Helen and Mary. Robert junior had seven children - his oldest son, Alexander, married Mary Wallace, daughter of a William and Ann Wallace. Alexander and Mary had three daughters and there the line runs out for us.
