Hi Donna

If you were to check the IGI on familysearch.org you would find quite a number of Strachans went out to Jamaica. My g-grandfather was one who went to Jamaica, although he moved on to Melbourne, Australia before ending up in Dunedin, New Zealand.

My g-grandfather was William Adam Strachan, son of James Strachan and Margaret Adam. William was born in Aberdeen and was sent to Jamaica because of his ill health. William was in the rum trade in Jamaica and the brewery business in New Zealand.

Regards
Jeni
