I realize your message is over a year old, but you may still be searching. I have two John F. Stowes in my family - one born in 1818 in NY; one born in 1858 in OH. There has always been a story in our family that H.B.Stowe, wife of Calvin, was my grandfather Stowe's great aunt. I have tried to trace that down. I had a friend check at the Stowe Foundation in CT. They said that Calvin Stowe had only one brother named William, and he did not have any children. I was very disappointed to hear that. Calvin had several siblings who died at birth or in early childhood. He was raised with one brother. According to the H.B.Stowe Foundation, his name was William. Can you tell me any more about your John F. Stowe? The two in my family created the Stowe Brothers Circus.
