Jared Stowe, born 1776 in Virginia, married Sallie Hollandsworth on29Sep1796 in Patrick county,VA. They had two known children, Thomas (my ancestor), and James. James married Martha Nunn on 18Jan1825. James and Martha and family moved from Virginia to Washington County,KY about 1830 and then to Missouri in 1850. Their last move was to Texas in 1859. They are reported to have had eleven children.

Their eldest child was William Henry Stowe, born 1 Jan1826. He is found in Clinton, MO in 1850 at age 25 married to Martha Tatum, daughter of John Tatum and Cassandra Robinson
