Margaret, I do not know if my Stowe family is related to yours, but some of the first names are the same so there might be a connection. I have William Stowe I in Prince George County, Virginia. He had sons William II, John, Joel and Abraham. William II had sons William, Jacob, Abraham, and John. William was in the Revolutionary War. I have a copy of his declaration for pension. Number S. 7627. He moved to Mecklenburg in 1787, married Martha. They had children Mary, William, Martha, Jane, Amy, Lewiza, and Elizabeth. William's brothers Abraham and Jacob (my ancestor)settled in Gaston County, NC.
Do you think this is your family?

Beverly
