hello evelyn, this cemetary is on the head waters of toms creek.it is on top of a high hill overlooking a beautiful little valley. at the bottom of the hill is a very old house place. gone before my time.my father remembered it as a child and said he remembered being told that the stowe family had gone to texas right after the war of " northen aggression" . this cemetary is probley early 1800's and could be the origenal home site for the first stowe settler. my father said he was told that the stowe property was bounty land.that toms creek was named for a tom stowe. it will probly take a conserted family effort to force the industral owners to reloacate the cemetary and mark the graves and fence the property. this hill may be graded down. it is to steep for them to use as it is. i can point to the cemetary with in 10 ft. there were about 20 graves with unmarked stones.joe duvall jr.
