Dorothy Louise STOVER Obit (not my kin)
STOVER - Dorothy Louise, journeyed to meet her Lord and join her loved ones who had passed before her on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, after enduring complications from a stroke.
Born Dorothy Louise Henderson on February 4, 1917, in Topeka, KS, her family later moved to Sapulpa, OK where she graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1935, married John Amberson Stover in 1942, and they later moved to San Mateo, CA during the war years where her daughter Pam was born and returned to Sapulpa after the war to raise her family.
Affectionately known to her nieces, nephews and even their children as Aunt Dodo, Dorothy brought joy, happiness and laughter to those around her, that will be long remembered by those who knew her.
Preceded in death by: her father and mother, Charles and Ruby Henderson; her infant son, John Kris; her husband of 36 years, John Amberson Stover; her brothers, Dale and Donald Henderson; her youngest sister, Daphne Diehl; and aunt Maud and aunt Fern, all of Sapulpa.
She is survived by: her daughter, Pamela Dunbar; and son, Kim Stover, both of Tulsa; her grandson, Dow Dunbar, his wife, Cindy and her 2 great- grandchildren, Bryce Amberson and Georgia Gale all of Seattle; her sisters, Dolores Galbraith and Diana Carroll of Tulsa and Delaine Cunningham of Jenks; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews; and her beloved little dog Snowy.
Service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., March 21, 2008, at the Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel in Sapulpa, OK with her nephew in-law, Don Evans of Allen, Texas, leading the celebration of her life.
Burial is to follow in Green Hill Memorial Garden in Sapulpa under the direction of Green Hill Funeral Home.
