Hi Everyone,
I am a decentant of James Stout their son...
According to my famiy....There was a storm at sea and
they wrecked off the coast of New Jersey....some were
washed ashore and some was lost at sea...and accually
some were rescued by a ship near by....
I heard that indians did come along and kill some of the
people...Penelope was cut up also in her stomach and
was left for dead..she must have been one strong lady as
she somehow made it to some rock area and hide for some
time ...then being so injured she finally wanted to die
and went back to the shore line..a old indian and his
grandson found her and took he home and nursed her back
to health...The word was passed about her to NY and they
came looking for her,One being Richard Stout....he found
her and took her to NY but she had fell in love with
NJ so they bought land there and went back...the old
indian lived close by and they helped each other from
that time on.....Elizbeth
