George Washington Stotler was the son of Elijah Stotler and Eve Ann Spielman.The family was listed on page 95 on the 1850 Morgan County census.

Elijah died in 1856 and his widow and some of his children moved to Clinton County, Ohio.I was sent a few pages on the 1915 "The History of Clinton County Ohio" pages 600-602.It mentions George W. who stayed in WV.There were three sons apparently born after 1850. Peter D; Elijah P and N.M. The article says Elijah (senior) was the son of Peter and Susannah Shockley but the woman who sent me the material said he was the son of John Jr. and Elizabeth Hunger.There was another Elijah born about 1812 and married Elizabeth Hobday.I just don't have enough evidence to say which is which.In any case Elijah was the grandson of John Stotler Senior.More information on the early family at:
