I lost big on this one! You are great. I had not bothered to check and see if Rudy or Fanny had applied for a pension. Shame on me.
I agree with you - Emanuel and Henry would have been Jacob's children. It makes sense that the families moved together after Jacob's death to Allegheny Co. Although the other Stotler men also had boys with these names I take it that the two who appear in the Affidavits would most likely have been those living closest to Myers - and those were Jacob's children. Good Show!
It also explains the marriages performed by Rudy for the three children of Jacob - Henry to Rudy's daughter Catherine, Emanuel to Elizabeth Bowman and Martha to Archibald Coon.
I have 16 children for Rudy. Four from the first marriage-Daniel, Catherine, Elenor and Andrew and 12 from the last - Elizabeth, Leah, Martha, Mathilda, Rudolph, Samuel, Abraham, Nancy, David, Myers B. and Emanuel
I have no information about Mathilda so maybe she wasn't counted.
And yes, I did have that Myers B. married about 1857 to Mary Lang Reed. They are both buried in the Mt. Hope cemetery in Penn Twp. They had two children.
I find it curious that Rudolph also states that he went to Allegheny Co following his service - with no mention of Franklin Co. residence at all.
Tax payments recorded in Allegheny Co. show the WIDOW Stotler on the rolls in Pitt Twp. in 1795 and in 1796 the Widow Stotler and Rudy Stotler in Pitt Twp.
I need to look over all this again and see where I am! Your information has opened the doors.
