(Would like to hear from again) Her father Geo. Balleo m. Mary Angeline daughter Clare & Josiah Powers. Her Brother Nahum Powers lives at Paradise Calif. Everett Powers Atty Los Angeles, Calif. NOTES by Byron Edwards (2007) follow: RootWeb db fittingsbf2: Nellie Rosemon Klemme was b. 10 Mar 1871 in Winneschiel [sic. should be Winneshiek] Co., Iowa. Thus Caleb must have prepared the genealogy well after that date. Guess 1900. Same database: Everett E. Powers is listed as 'atty at law' in the 1884-5 directory for Butte Co., in Paradise. Everett E. Powers is also listed as a farmer, age 21 from Iowa, in Paradise in the Great Register for California in 1880. In the [Soundex index for the] 1900 census in Los Angeles, Los Angeles co., California, Edward E. Powers was born Dec. 1861 in Iowa, [wife?] E. Lydia was born July 1871 in California and niece Beryl Brown was born Feb 1893 in California Same database: Children of Josiah and Clare are Mary Angeline Powers Klemmes John Emery Powers whose son is Edward Everett Powers Nahum Nevens Powers Cyrus Powers Wilbur F. Powers Louise E. Powers Alexander William Powers Erimina Annette Powers I can find no real support for connecting the family with Justice Joesph Powers though several internet databases do make the connection though William Story. This William did not appear to have “removed to Boston” since his children were born in Ipswich. Companion letter from Cyrus to son Caleb establishes Caleb's father as Cyrus. Cabel's 4th great grand father was Andrew Story who immigrated to Massachusetts with his son William in 1637. I have information regards Caleb and his descendants. Mary Stockbridge's 3rd great grand father was John Stockbridge who immigrated to Massachusetts in 1635 and was one on the original residents of Scituate, Massachusetts.
