I am researching a group of Story/Storey siblings who migrated together. The names of the parents is a mystery, but according to census records the siblings were all born in Tennessee (? Giles) in the 1820's and migrated together to Lauderdale co, AL in the 1840's and finally settling to Milam county Texas in the early 1850's.

John W. Story, my direct line, was born about 27 May 1820, in an unknown county in TN and died 10 Feb 1870 in Milam co, TX and is buried in the Rice cemetery. He was married to Elizabeth Smith on 23 Sep 1840 in Lauderdale co., AL. She was born abt 12 May 1821 in TN and died bef 23 Oct 1880 in Milam co, TX, buried in Rice cemetery also. They are counted on the 1850 census of Lauderdale county, but migrate to Milam county TX in 1854.

Sarah J. Story, was born 25 Sep 1823, in an unknown county in TN. She was married to William J. Pratt abt 1847, ? Giles county TN. This family is found on the 1850 census of Lauderdale co., AL in 1850; in Giles co, TN in 1860; and finally to Milam county TX abt 1870. Sarah died 27 Jan 1888 and is buried in the Rice cemetery, Milam co., TX.

William M. Story, was born 15 Dec 1824, in an unknown county in TN. He was married abt 1844 to Martha (?Edwards/Young), ? Giles county TN. By 1850, this family is also found in Lauderdale co., AL and by 1854 have migrated to Milam county TX. William died 20 Oct 1890 and is buried in the Storey cemetery of Milam co, TX.

Some research that I have seen indicates that the parents of my John W. Story is James Story JR, born 1808 in NC and his wife Elizabeth Cameron, born 1813 in TN. This research is erroneous. James would have been 12 and Elizabeth 7 when my John was born. If you have this in your data please correct it. Will share data with those interested.

Thank you, Glenn Rutz
