My records show that Phoebe Ann Brooks was the oldest daughter of Micajah Brooks and Mary Hunter of Paulding and Polk Counties, GA.I think the spelling of the name "Story" is up to the individual -- both were/are probably equally correct in the eyes of the persons bearing the name at the time.
There are several entries on RootsWeb WorldConnect for the children of Thomas Solomon (or Solomon Thomas) Story/Storey and Phoebe Ann Brooks.
I don't know about Augustine Story, but your Emily Story was the daughter of Elias/Elis Wells Story who was a son of the aforementioned Thomas Solomon/Solomon Thomas Story. In the 1880 census I found E. W. Story age 73 born GA with wife Harriett age 52 (she may have been a second or even a third wife given the age difference) with daughters Emily age 21 and Julia age 19 and a son Lee age 8; this family was located in Cross Keys, Macon County, Alabama.
I am a Brooks descendant through Micajah's son John born 1790.
