DR. JOHN H. STORER was born, April 22, 1830, in Forward Township, Allegheny County, Pa., son of JOHN and SARAH STORER; attended academy at Belle Vernon, in spring of 1842, taught by T. R. Hazzard, Esq., and on its removal to Monongahela City, continued until 1845, when he entered Junior class at Washington College, graduating in 1847, in the same class with M. P. Morrison, James G. Blaine, John Hampton and others.In 1848, he succeeded Joseph Morrison, Esq., as principal of the Monongahela Academy, and remained for 18 months.In 1849, he went into the drug business with Dr. J. H. Connelly, continued the study of medicine during the winters of 1851 and 1852, attended lectures at Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, in the summer of 1852, practiced medicine with Dr. Connelly in Monongahela City, also in the winters of 1852 and 1853 attended to Dr. Connelly's practice while he was attending lectures.He graduated in medicine in the spring of 1854, and located in the practice of medicine with Dr. Connelly at Triadelphia, West Virginia.Dr. Connelly retired from the practice in 1861, to go into other business.DR. STORER continued alone until April, 1877, when a partnership was formed with Dr. J. T. Carter, which lasted until 1890, when DR. STORER retired from active practice and will make his home in the future at Elm Grove, a growing suburb of Wheeling, W. Va.He married in July, 1866, MISS SUSAN L. WADDLE, of Ohio County, West Virginia.
