Living next to MATNEY and COBB relatives of mine in Carroll County, AR, in 1850 was a Noah STOOPS, age 22, farmer, born IN. His wife, Margaret STOOPS, 21, was also born in IN per census records. The STOOPS were still in the same place in Carroll County in 1860, but I think they disappeared after that. I wouldn't be surprised if Noah STOOPS was involved in the Civil War, but I have no proof of that. Does anyone know where Noah and Margaret STOOPS went from Carroll County, AR? The MATNEY's and COBB's had also migrated from IN prior to 1850. Another neighbor, Benjamin WILLIAMS, 44, born MD, his wife, Martha, 42, born KY and some of their children also had been in IN at one time. Three of the WILLIAMS children were born in IN.
Does anyone know what Margaret STOOPS' maiden name was? Does anyone know anything about this couple? Does anyone know who their parents were? Any information appreciated.
