Ruby (Stonebraker) Dodd shows up in the 1840 and 1850 censuses of Jefferson Co., KY. Joseph A. Brooks was a lawyer in Bullitt Co., KY. So why did Ruby buy land in Lincoln Co., MO and never go there? Was she acting as an estate administrator for her father John Dietrich Stonebraker, deceased in 1831? Why did she ship her widowed mother Rebecca and her minor siblings off to MO and then stay in KY herself?
