Hello Cuz;John Stone and Sarah Walker Stone, too, are my fourth great-grandparents and I too come thru Samuel Hatton Stone and Priscilla Hight Stone. Sarah was the daughter of Samuel Walker who's father was John Walker II and Ann Houston.Priscilla Hight was the daughter of Jonathan Hight and Nancy Edwards. Jonathan was the son of Herbert (Harbert) Hight and Hannah Ann Haggard. According to the 1850 Census of Moore County, North Carolina list both Samuel and Lemuel. Lemuel was given to be 60 years of age.He was married to 30 year old Catherine Campbell who at the time of the visit of the census taker was expecting and due to deliver their first child.I have no other record of Lemuel being married prior to his then wife Catherine but I feel positive that he was. Samuel Hatton Stone was given to also be 60 years of age by his wife who no doubt gave the census taker the information he ask. This means if the Census was right and I tend to beleive that it is,that Samuel and Lemuel were actually twins, both being born in the year 1790. Samuel and Priscilla in 1850 had several childen that had already started their own families. Their oldest son that I have knowledge of was James D. Stone who was born in 1817 and had married Judy Parrish. By the time of the 1850 census they were living several miles from Samuel and Priscilla. They had eight children by the time of the 1850 Census of Moore County, N.C. 1. Sallie; 2.Parker;3.James M.;4.Martha;5.Doc David;6.Frances;7.Anna Jane;8.Wesley; Samuel and Priscilla's second child was Emiline..brn;1824-third was Nancy..brn.1826..she married Neill McNeill of Cumberland County,N.C.-fourth was Martha..brn;1832-fifth was Rosanna..brn;1835 and then my third great-grandfather and their sixth child was Archibald..brn;1838..he married Martha Jane Buchanan...They all lived in what would become and is Lee County,North Carolina and buried at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Lee County,N.C....Archibald and Jane had a number of children of which one, my 1st. great-grandfather..Neill A. Stone was one...he married Nanny Catherine Wicker...they had my grandfather John David Blackmon Stone..who married Georgia May Medlin and they had my mother Elizabeth Stone who married Willie Frank Jones Sr. of Bishopville, S.C. and here is yours truely.. Bill Jones...My wife and I have a total of five children and 17 living grandchildren and soon our fourth great-grandchild will be born.I have a lot more info on James David and Archibald Stone and their children if you would like to receive it. Records show that John and Sarah had children in Cumberland County, North Carolina. Records show that they also were in Granville County, N.C. at the time Franklin County was formed and they were taken into the new boundary and became residents of the new Franklin County. Samuel and Priscilla married in Granville County while Lemuel married in Moore County, N.C.I truely would love to hear from you and the info that you have. Please send me a line or two and let's have a family reunion.
