Stone / Detlor of Canada
Hi All,
I provide info on my grandmother and the little I presently know of my great grandmother.
Per my father, Mabelle Lillian Stone, his mother, was born in Ontario, or Quebec, March 23, 1890and that he was not sure of Mabelles' mothers name.On a stopover to his grandmothers home (Quebec or Ontario) in 1939, my Dad said that his grandmother was still alive. She did not use the name of (her daughter - ) Mabelles' father (Stone), rather she called herself, or was called simply 'Mrs. Detlor'.
My father described Mrs. Detlor's home and property as very large, in a downtown setting, and was full of many people coming and going.(I suspect that this may be the 'Mrs. Detlor'of ...

Mrs. Detlor's children:
(per Mabelle)
Arthur Stone, civil engineer
Frank Stone, (Canadian Military)
Mabelle (immigrated to the United States)
Jenny (Detlor, not having the same father).
Mabelle and her mother were somewhat distant through her childhood. She, however, was apparently as driven in her religious pursuits (as I suspect) as with a well known mother, who was into religious politics. Mabelle also attended the Forrester Theological Seminary in Chicago from 1910-1914.
I have been unable to find any further information and I am at a loss on how to proceed in the tracing of my great grandmother's family.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have additional info.Thank [email protected]
