Decatur County Journal-Iowa Thursday, March l5, l9l7 The sudden death of MISS EDITH MATHER, Friday night, March 2nd, at the home of MR. and MRS. THOS. TEALE in this city, was a great shock to her many friends and to the people generally. MISS MATHER was popular with all who knew her. She had made her home with MRS. MARGARET STONE until the death of MRS. STONE some time ago. Since the death of MRS. STONE, she had made her home with MR. and MRS. THOS. TEALE. On the day before her death, she had accompanied MR. and MRS. TEALE on an automobile trip to Mt. Ayr and had returned with them that evening. She had retired about nine o'clock seemingly in the best of health. Friday morning she was not up when MR. and MRS. TEALE arose and MRS. TEALE went to her room and found her dead. Death had from all appearances resulted some hours before the discovery of the body. Dr. H.R. Layton, the Coroner, was summoned and found that death had resulted from heart failure, and consequently no inquest was thought necessary. She has a brother living at Harrisburg, Pa., her only near relative. He was notified and he asked that the body be sent there for burial. The remains were sent to Harrisburg on Saturday evening following, accompanied by her uncle, W.P. CREVELING, of near Leon. MISS MATHER was but 37 years of age at the time of her death. She was a lady of splendid qualities and all regret greatly her untimely death. Notify Administrator about this message?
