John,
All I can tell you is that John H. Stone was born the
26th. of April 1809 in Franklin County, NC.
I have another John H. Stone, 11 years old in 1850, living
in Stanley County with his parents, Samuel and Sarah Stone
both listed as 40 years of age. His brothers and sisters
were; Adaline 18, William D. 16, Richard A. 13, Mary A. 7,
Robert J. 4, Sarah E. infant less than 1 year old.
Within my family line the name John Henry is prevalent.
I have a John Henry Stone born in 1930's died about the
year 2000 in Lee County, North Carolina. He was married to
Beatrice Gilmore. He was born to George Wesley "Jack"
Stone and Omie Holder of Lee County. His paternal grand-
parents were John David Stone and Mattie Burns of old
Moore-now Lee County. He is of the Franklin County Stone
line. This John Henry Stone and wife had only one child
that is still living.
I am revamping my research material and doing alot of
work on colonial era Stone lineages. Enumerators were
bad for abbreviations which I have come to despise but
that's the way it is so I keep digging for I have gone
down a many of wrong trail at a full gallop to have come
to a deadend trail and quick jolting stop and fallen out
the saddle, so to speak, but I hop back in the saddle
with my bruised pride and find another trail. So now if I
should come across the middle name of John H. Stone I
will be more than happy to post it to this script.
Bill
